Mondays - 6 weeks - 4/8 - 5/20
No Class Day: 4/22 (Easter break)

Preschool Lunch bunch and Busy Bee Art with Mrs Durkin, 11:30 - 12:30, Min 5 / Max 10, $165

Enjoy lunch with Mrs. Durkin and explore a variety of fun and colorful Spring art projects and activities. Every Monday, we will read a story and get a little messy with hands on activities, such as painting rocks, decorating birdhouses and making paper bag puppets. Students will also design their own Enrichment tote bag to bring home projects each week. Please pack a healthy nut free lunch and drink for your preschooler.

 

JK  Nature Explorers with Ms. McShane, 1:30 - 2:30, Min 5 / Max 8, $165

As the weather is warming, the outdoors is coming to life. What a perfect opportunity to learn about and experiment with the great outdoors! In this enrichment, we will be scientists investigating what happens in the Spring, artists creating with natural found materials, and explorers adventuring into the world around us with a purpose. Come explore with me!

 

JK Spring into Art with Mrs. Carter, 1:30 - 2:30, Min 4 / Max 15, $165

Provide your children with the opportunity to explore nature and what transpires before, during and after spring through art. Learn about flowers, animals and insects and what happens to them during the winter time and what happens when they feel spring is coming. We will explore different media to create what we learned about nature.  What a perfect way to celebrate spring!

 

K-4, Nature Art with Mrs Carter, 3:15 - 4:15, Min 5 / Max 18, $165

Now is the time to spring into art! In this class we will investigate nature and its beauty and use it to create art that celebrates the uniqueness and energy of our environment. The children will experiment with different media to create masterpieces celebrating nature, and will share what they have learned about their environment and its beautiful surroundings.

Tuesdays 6 weeks - 4/9 - 5/21
No Class Day: 4/23 (Easter break)

Preschool Springtime Art with Mrs. Yakoubek, 11:30 - 12:30, Min 5 / Max 10, $165

Preschoolers are invited to stay for lunch with their classmates and then move on to getting creative!  Each week children will read about springtime and have fun creating a new project to take home at the end of class.  Please pack a nut-free sack lunch and enjoy that extra hour of fun-filled playtime for your child at school.

 

JK Amazing Minds, 1:30 - 2:30, Min 6 / Max 12, $165

Join us on an incredible journey, we will engage your child through FUN, HANDS-ON thematic based activities. The Amazing Minds curriculum is based on Piaget’s theory of “learning by doing.” Math and Science will come alive through our exploration of various topics. Grab your teacher's hand and travel to China, Ancient Egypt, Italy, Washington DC or Australia to name just a few. We will play reading games involving the animal kingdom and ocean creatures. Our topics change each session- 18 topics in all. Build rock collections, excavate Ancient Egyptian tombs, or shop in a simulated grocery store. Dissect owl pellets, wear prism glasses, and make raisins bounce! Top it all off with exciting topic related take home prizes such as an Australian boomerang or a shark's tooth!            

 

K- 5, Girls On The Run! with Ms LeCompte & Ms Wegner, 3:15 - 4:15, Min 10 / Max 24, $165

Do you enjoy being outside and getting fresh air? Do you like to accomplish goals? Well, then we have the perfect club for you, Girls On The Run! This club involves outdoors and running! We will go for runs and work together to build up our perseverance and stamina, as well as running distance.  This will be done on the Green Bay Trail and as the weeks pass by we will reach our ultimate goal of running a 5K! Join Ms. LeCompte and Ms. Wegner at Girls On The Run!  

At the end of the program there is an optional 5km run, the Jubliee Jog, this is on Monday May 27th (Memorial Day) at 8 am, the start and finish point is Saint Joseph's School in Wilmette. For more information visit http://www.jubileejog5k.com/  Ms LeCompte and Ms Wegner will participate in the Jubilee Jog and encourage the girls (and their families) to sign up for this event, more information to come.

Wednesdays 6 weeks - 4/10 - 5/22
No Class Day: 4/24 (Easter Break)

Preschool’s Hi-Five Sports (90 min) 11:30 - 1:00, Min 6 / Max 10, $190

Calling all Preschoolers to join our outgoing and energetic coaching staff for 90 minutes where kids will sit down for lunch followed by tons of FUN, games and activities, such as soccer, flag football, relay races, & so much more...Hi-Five Classes are designed around team sports and other physical activities that help children build confidence and self-esteem. Our sports, games and activities encourage the development of language, large and small motor skills, social and emotional skills as well as the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship!!

*Classes are 90 minutes long (reflected in price).

*Classes will be held at SH’s Parish Center. Hi-Five Coaches will meet kids in front of school and walk across the street together.  Please ensure your child has a nut-free snack.

 *For pick-up, please park on Burr Ave and sign-out your child INSIDE the Parish Center.

 

JK's Hi-Five Sports, 1:30 - 2:30, Min 6 / Max 12, $165

Preschoolers are invited to stay for lunch with their classmates and then move on to exploring stories from the Bible.  Each week children will read and learn about a different story from the Bible and have fun creating a project to take home.  Parents please pack a nut-free sack lunch and enjoy that extra hour of fun-filled playtime for your child at school.

 

JK Passport around the world! with Ms DiCesare - 1:30 – 2:30, Min 5 / Max 10, $165

Expand your horizons, discover and experience new lands and cultures by going on a road trip with Ms DiCesare and “travel around the world” from your very own classroom! Students will visit a new place every week and experience the cultures, people, and customs through fun activities that are distinctive of the location visited. I hope YOU can join our JK road trip around the world!

*Class runs 12:00 - 1:00 pm for early release day 5/16

 

1st-5th, Broadway Juniors Explore Mary Poppins, 3:15-4:15, Min 8 / Max 20, $170

Calling all young actors… to experience the magical world of musical theatre with one of the most popular Disney movies of all time, Mary Poppins! Explore the unforgettable songs and dances of Mary Poppins with Skyline Studios.  This class will introduce students to musical theatre but we will NOT be presenting a final show due to the short length of the spring session, but if you love theatre in the spring then stay tuned for Frozen in the Fall / Christmas program.

*Class takes place in the Parish center. For pick-up, please park on Burr Ave and sign-out your child INSIDE the Parish Center for pick-up.  Ensure your child has a nut-free snack.

*Class runs 1:25 - 2:25 pm for early release day 5/16.

 

K-4, Lego Robotics, 3:15-4:45, Min 8 / Max 20, $190

The Junior Lego Robotics workshop introduces students to robotics when combined with the LEGO Software. Students will be able to build models featuring working motors and sensors; using coding through computers to program their models; and explore a series of cross-curricular, theme-based activities while developing their skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. In every class, little roboticists build a new robot model and program them to actuate the motors and sensors under the guidance of an experienced Kids STEM Studio instructor.

*Class runs 1:25 - 2:55 pm for early release day 5/16. Classes are 90 minutes long (reflected in price).

Fridays 5 weeks - 4/12 - 5/17
No Class Day: 19 (Easter break)

Preschool Snapology Jr. Scientists: Discover Dinosaurs! 11:30 - 12:30, Min 8  / Max 10 $140

How is a Tyrannosaurus Rex different from a Triceratops? Is it just in their physical characteristics or is it also what they ate and when they lived? In Discovering Dinosaurs, your little paleontologists will explore what dinosaurs ate and when they lived while constructing their very own dinosaur model out of DUPLO®blocks. Through stories, building, and games, your little learners will be busy exploring the prehistoric world with DUPLO while gaining critical social and developmental skills without even realizing it!

In this program your child will:

- Gain a basic introduction to paleontology, biology, ecology, and anatomy

- Practice critical thinking, cooperation, and teamwork skills

 

JK Snapology Jr. Biologists! 1:30 - 2:30, Min 8 / Max 12 $140

Allow your little scientist to cultivate their love of animals. Children will learn about various aspects of animal life cycles, characteristics, and traits using specialized K’NEX® Organisms and Life Cycles kits and other interactive learning tools.

In this program your child will:

- Explore the animal kingdom and discover differences in animal anatomies and structures

- Develop concepts in biology, including exposure to habitats, ecosystems, and biodiversity

 

K-4, Snapology Superstructures!  3:15 – 4:15, Min 8 / Max 12, $140

To an architect, the concept is what distinguishes a work of architecture from a mere building. Become a master builder with structure, strength, shape, form, and function by designing and creating the future using LEGO® bricks in Snapology’s awesome architecture program! Does your builder enjoy designing beautiful buildings or functional spaces for their mini-figures? If so, this program is the perfect space for your young architect to sharpen their design and building skills! All buildings, from the Empire State Building to the house next door, started as an idea in an architect’s head. Students will be guided through the building process, from creating a floor plan to disaster-proofing the structure, so that they will be able to create the next best thing in LEGO® architecture!

In this program your child will:

- Learn architecture, engineering, planning, and conceptual design

- Practice cooperation and teamwork skills

 

SH CHEERLEADING Grades K-4th, 3:15 – 4:15, Min 6 / Max 20, $140

Sacred Heart is proud to offer cheerleading under the creative direction of Chicago Loves Dance.  In this class new and returning students will learn the basics of cheerleading (strength, jumps and motion techniques), dance movements, tumbling skills (handstands, cartwheels and roundoffs) and a variety of dance routines. Children learn the basic techniques of cheers and jumps and learn the importance of teamwork through games and group activities.  Chicago Loves Dance runs on the philosophy that dance should open a child’s creative abilities, be FUN, and teach the self-esteem and socialization needed in everyday life, through the activity of dance and performance.

For the last 15 minutes of class on the final day of cheer (5/17), parents can watch as children show off their hard work and perform the choreography they have learned throughout the session. Schedule dependent the girls may have an opportunity to perform at a Boys Varsity Volleyball game (TBC).

*If you did not take cheer enrichment in Winter or Fall and would like a uniform, you may purchase one online through - www.omnicheer.com  Skirt - Chasse Knife-Pleat Skirt in RED; Top - Chasse Sweetheart Shell Top in RED.  *XS uniforms run very small. This is optional.
